Well to start with the last question, whether or not I think family friendly/oriented jobs/careers coincide with a Christian worldview, I would say 100% yes. The Lord God we serve is all about family, the very structure of our faith depicts such. I use to hear my spiritual mentor say this phrase often, “God needs strong parents, to raise up strong children for His Kingdom, and yes many positive Godly influences stem from just parental sources, yet it is God’s design to see strong secure households. “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed” (Amos 3:33).

I choose the company Adobe, for its surprising and unexpecting benefits offered to employees. “In 2018, the software company increased the amount employees are reimbursed for adoption expenses to $25,000 per child/sibling group, with a lifetime maximum of $50,000. The company added a benefit to cover nonmedical expenses associated with surrogacy, up to $25,000 per event, with a $50,000 lifetime maximum”(Working Mother). Particular for men, who generally hardly ever regarded in fertility issues, the benefit of receiving reimbursement for adoption expenses, I found to be very appealing, as it communicates a level of concern, kindness, and appreciation from employer to employee, as well as it promotes a family-oriented culture in the workplace. In addition, these type of benefits ultimately alleviate a great of the financial strain that countless adopting parents face when choosing to adopt.

As a Christian, God is very much passionate about adoption, in letting us know that through Christ, we are now His sons and daughters. “Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Gal. 4:3-5).
