2-Objectives of research
Investigate how a business or an organization is using Social Media to enhance communications and business interactions within companies (employee communications) and externally with partners, vendors, customers, and the community. Social Media includes Web 2.0 technologies such as blogging, messaging tools such as Twitter, IM, texting, podcasts, along with using interactive communication technologies such as wikis, Linked-In, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, etc. Social Media also includes mobile applications for smartphones and tablet computing (such as the iPhone, iPAD).
Write the evaluation for your chosen company, ranging from 750 – 800 words.
Provide a brief background of the company (very brief)
o Evaluate various functions such as (must have at least 3 functions form the list bellow; cultural accommodation is required as one of the three functions):
? Global presence and cultural accommodation (this is required for all reports)
? Marketing/Sales
? Customer Service and Support
? Public Relations
? Careers/Recruitment
? Product Communities
? Community and Outreach Services
? Other – may be specific to the industry, such as non-profits organizations, universities –must be approved by SB
o Overall impressions; recommendations for improvement
o For each of the 3 functions, describe how social media is being used, what technologies are being utilized, how the business processes work, and how effective they are.
o Rate and Rank the company by function, and overall rating – You will need to give a “grade” to each function and determine the overall grade for the company. You will also need to give your reasons for the grades, what was done well, what needs improvement. Your grading should be on a scale of 1-5. One being the lowest score and 5 being the highest score you will give them.
The report will be in business report format, single-spaced, Times Roman font, 12 pt., with appropriate headings, following APA format for in-text citations and reference list.
5-Graphics: Your report should have two graphic charts which will give a pictorial view of the evaluation conclusions: one graph will show the overall total results by company, and a second graph which will show the overall results by category.
